Horizon Tours is a locally owned company built by people who wake up in the Rockies every morning and never get tired of the view.
Horizon Tours started because we believed visitors to the Rockies deserved better than a crowded bus and a megaphone. We wanted to build the kind of experience we'd want if we were visiting for the first time — small groups, local guides who actually know these mountains, and access to places most tourists don't see.
We're based in the Bow Valley, licensed to operate in Banff National Park, and small enough to care about every single guest. That's not a tagline — it's how we built the company.
These aren't corporate values on a poster. They're how we make decisions every day.
Maximum 12 guests per tour. This isn't a bus operation. We keep groups small so every guest gets personal attention and every experience feels exclusive.
Our guides live here. They know the trails, the wildlife patterns, the best light for photos, and the spots that don't show up on Google Maps.
We operate under Parks Canada licensing and take Leave No Trace seriously. The Rockies were here long before us, and we intend to keep them that way.
The price you see is the price you pay. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. We want you to book with confidence, not anxiety.
If the light is perfect at a viewpoint, we stay. If a bear crosses the road, we stop. The best moments aren't on a schedule.
We bring our own canoes to lakes where there are no rental services. This means you get experiences that literally aren't available any other way.
When we started Horizon, we noticed something: everyone wanted to canoe in Banff, but the options were limited to rental docks with hour-long queues and 30-minute time slots. That's not an experience — that's a transaction.
So we did something different. We bring our own canoes to Two Jack Lake, where there are no rental shops and no crowds. Just you, the water, and Mount Rundle. It's the kind of experience we wish someone had offered us, and now it's something only our guests can do.
A small team of locals who genuinely love sharing these mountains with visitors from around the world.
